Michaela for Tennessee

Graphic Design
I had the honor of designing this bandana for Democratic congressional candidate Michaela Barnett. Her team had specifically said that they were looking for a bandana design and a design that could be turned into a sticker or potentially a kids' t-shirt. I wanted the design to feel organic, authentic, and most importantly representative of Michaela’s campaign and mission.

For the bandana, I landed on a design that incorporated quilt pattern elements that are reflective of Michaela’s branding and background; animals and insects of East Tennessee to represent the people; and medicinal plants of Appalachia to represent the healing of our community. As for the sticker, I aimed to create a design that felt friendly and invoked a sense of community, so I opted for an illustration that featured animals of East Tennessee parading together.

It is always so refreshing to get projects like this. Though my art is not making a direct impact, it is amazing to think that it is contributing to a cause that I care so deeply about.
